Got to Go

I've come to the conclusion that the verb 'to get' is totally redundant within the english language and as such should be cast out and destroyed. The same is true with 'got', as in 'have you got any money'. I think we have suffered this poor use of language for too long now, and it must be stopped.

Take any sentence with the word 'got' or 'get' in, and you can word it better without that word.

I feel a website coming on.

Country Music

I'm listening to a radio station called 'Kickin' Country' on iTunes, and it has me thinking. I like country music (not all of it, especially the old stuff), but when other people are around I'm embarassed to listen to it. Why? Why is it that as soon as someone walks in, my feelings for the music are totally different? Very strange.

My Head Hurts...

The mixture of a cold and too much alcohol last night has left me with a very sore head. I've returned to bed for a spell, but now I just feel lousy and congested. However, last night was very good. I went out in Louth with Wayne and met up with friends of his. It was a good fun - just very relaxed and not a drinking marathon which was ace.

I need to do something productive with my day - I think I'm going to go and buy some fresh produce and get healthy again. I've not been too good whilst I've been ill!

Job Ups and Downs

The start of the week was great - a job interview on Tuesday for a good company. It went very well indeed. Today they called to say yes, and the usual negotiations started on money. It has all gone pear shaped and now I'm not sure if I can be bothered. The money isn't great, and I've realised that there are other jobs out there with shorter contracts that will pay better. The problem is that Katharine at the agency has been ace and I don't want to piss her off. What do I do?

I've just played squash and lost to someone that I shouldn't have lost to which is very annoying. I thought that I was suffering from hayfever on Wednesday, but discovered yesterday that it was a cold. I just couldn't move on court which was very frustrating. Bugger.

I've got a nice quiet weekend with noone around. Neil and Dalts are on a stag weekend and Wayne is working. I'm playing squash tomorrow morning with Gary, and then settling in to watch the FA Cup. I may pop to Sainsbury's on the hope that Victoria (yes, she has a name) is there. Here's hoping.

Time Travel Convention

Unfortunately this has been and gone, but that doesn't matter, does it?

Check it out - Time Traveler Convention.

An awesome idea.

Another Good Weekend!

Well it's been another good weekend. Neil and I had an unexpected night out on Friday, and we were all out on Saturday night. We saw some live music too up at The Shed, and it wasn't bad at all. Three groups - Blue Sands, Park and Ride and The Saved. The Saved were the main act and were ok. Blue Sands and Park and Ride were great.

We're into another week and more job hunting. Sharp Reader keeps popping up messages from JobServe with jobs here and jobs there, but there's nothing appropriate for me.

I've decided to throw myself into my sport while work is quiet. It makes sense, and I've been missing my squash for a while now. I've got a game tonight and I'm going to organise some more for the week.

Oh, and as it's Monday, there'll be a trip to Sainsbury's...

Tidy Kitchens

Clearly life is slow. The kitchen has now remained tidy for 3 days now, and that's no mean feat living in a house with three other lads. We've got an inspection next Thursday, so now is probably a good time to try and get the house in shape. The lounge carpet is a bit of a mess, but I think that's the only problem.

I'm still reeling from the fact that Everton lost 7-0 to Arsenal last night. It was very embarassing to say the least. There's only one more game left in the football season and to be honest I'm going to have find something else to do: I've never watched this much football in my life!

The health kick continues, and successfully. Even KFC didn't knock me back last night!

I had a play with this photo, so it's not totally original. I just wanted to get the power station a bit clearer in the background. Posted by Hello

On the theme of pictures, this is where I used to live!!!!! Posted by Hello

A Few Photos

I was a bit bored this morning, so I took the camera to get a few shots around Lincoln. Nothing too excting I'm afraid.

The view from the top of West Common in Lincoln. If you follow the fence for about half a kilometre, that's where I live! Posted by Hello

What a Weekend!

Well what a weekend! I went back over to Formby with the boys, played football twice (a full 90 minutes!), went out in Formby on Friday night (and pulled!), and went out in Liverpool on Saturday night. But!!! The most amazing thing - I lost weight over the weekend!!!!!!!!!!!

The week has started well!!!!!!!!

And I've had a call from an agency already this morning, applied for a job, and the dive centre in Spain have invited me to work for them over summer.

Yey!

Liverpool on Saturday was amazing to say the least. I haven't been out in Liverpool for so long, but it is brilliant. The people are great, the bars are great, and I didn't feel the need to get totally hammered which was fantastic. As a consequence, I had quite a healthy weekend, as you can gather. And so many attractive women. Soooo many ;-)

All that remains is to go to the supermarket today and see if I can find success with the girl that works there...

Happy days!

Update on the health kick

Just spotted that I'd started on the health trail. I had a good first week which I undid in the first weekend. I've gone for a more sensible approach, and I've just started walking and cycling when I would usually use the car. It's not going too badly...

No Changes Here

I've woken up this morning to a relatively unchanged country. I was hoping for a little more excitement in the election, and it has clearly moved away from labour, but it's all still labour. So no change there then.

Job hunting continues to go slowly, but I did attend a meeting of local businesses last night which could bring some work my way.

I'm off to Formby this weekend for a night out in Liverpool. It should be good!
